The short version. Ithagenia 2026 has no account, no ads and no in-app purchases. Everything you study is inside the app, and your progress, answers, settings and voice recordings stay on your phone. The app sends us only anonymous usage counts, crash reports, and the feedback you choose to send. We never see your name, and we never sell data.

Who we are

Ithagenia 2026 (Τεστ Ιθαγένειας 2026, package com.sabu.ithagenia2026) is made and published by SabuTech, a sole trader registered in the Netherlands (KVK 99588145, Amsterdam). We decide what happens to the data described here, so we are responsible for it (the “controller”). This policy covers the Android app and this web page. For anything about your data, email contact [at] sabutech [dot] net.

The app runs on Android only. You pay for it once on Google Play. There is no login, no subscription and no advertising.

What stays on your phone

All the study material (questions, pictures and audio recordings) ships inside the app, so it works without an internet connection. The app also saves these on your phone:

  • Your progress: which questions you have answered, right or wrong, your scores and your mistakes list.
  • Your settings: the mode you use, how many questions you practise with, and how many times the app has asked you for a review.
  • Your voice recordings: in speaking practice, the app records your answer with the microphone so you can listen back. The recordings stay on your phone. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

None of this is uploaded. Deleting the app deletes it. Reset progress in Settings wipes your progress without deleting the app. If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may keep a copy of the app's data with your Google account, under Google's own terms.

Anonymous usage counts (Firebase Analytics)

To learn which parts of the app help and which confuse, the app sends anonymous usage events to Firebase Analytics, a Google service. It counts:

  • when the app is opened, and how many days it has been since you installed it;
  • which screens you view (home, practice, progress, settings);
  • whether you pick practice or exam mode, and which subject you tap;
  • quizzes started, finished, abandoned or retaken, with the subject, the number of questions, your score, pass or fail, and how long it took;
  • questions you skip (the question type and its position, not the question itself);
  • when you view or reset your progress, and your overall accuracy at that moment;
  • when the app checks for an update or asks you for a review.

Firebase gives your copy of the app a random id so it can tell installs apart. It is not your name, email, phone number or Google account, and we have no way to connect it to you. Reinstalling the app gives you a new one. The events never include the text of a question or your answers, and the app never asks for your location.

Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics (also Google) sends us a report: your phone model, the Android version, the app version, what went wrong and where in the app's code it happened. We use it only to fix bugs.

Google processes analytics and crash data on our behalf, on its own servers, under Firebase's privacy and security terms. We do not build profiles, we do not use this data for ads, and we do not sell or share it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and making it better (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by emailing contact [at] sabutech [dot] net.

Feedback you send us

The app has two forms. Nothing is sent until you tap send.

  • Report a question: sends us the question, its options and the right answer, your answer, the problem you picked, any comment you wrote, the app version and the operating system.
  • Ideas and suggestions: sends us your message and the category you picked. If you type an email address, it comes too, so we can reply. Leaving it blank is fine.

Both go to a Google Apps Script that writes them into a private Google Sheet we run. We use them only to fix the content and to answer you, and we keep them only as long as that takes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping the questions right. If you want something you sent deleted, email contact [at] sabutech [dot] net.

What Google Play handles

When the app starts, it asks Google Play whether a newer version exists, and may ask you to update. After you pass a quiz, it may ask Google Play to show the “rate this app” prompt (at most three times, never less than 30 days apart). Your purchase, any rating you give and these prompts are handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. We never see your payment details. Google also shows us combined, anonymous statistics such as the number of installs; they do not identify you.

Internet and permissions

The app uses the internet only for the four things above: usage counts, crash reports, feedback you send, and Google Play's update and review checks. It asks for the microphone only for speaking practice, and for vibration to buzz on a wrong answer. It contains no advertising or tracking SDKs and talks to no other third parties.

Children

The app is for adults preparing for the Greek citizenship exam. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you are a parent and think a child has sent us feedback, email contact [at] sabutech [dot] net and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, ask us to limit how we use it, get a copy of it, or object to how we use it. In practice the only personal data we might hold is feedback you sent, so email contact [at] sabutech [dot] net and we will delete it. The usage counts and crash reports are anonymous, so there is nothing we can look up for one person.

You can also complain to a data protection authority. Ours, in the Netherlands, is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. You can also go to the authority where you live.

This web page

This page sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the page and keep it secure. The rest of the SabuTech website has its own privacy policy.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently (for example new kinds of usage events, or a new service), we will update this page and the date at the top before that update ships.
